TVP Chili

Preparation
Soak 2 cups of dried kidney beans overnight.
Prepare TVP and put aside (can stir-fry with onions, celery, spices, etc.)
Use large sauce pan

Ingredients

  • Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
  • Spike or Mrs. Dash 1 teaspoon
  • Chili Con Carne seasoning 4 to 8 tablespoons
  • One diced medium onion
  • Two diced celery stalks
  • 1/2 pound of diced mushrooms
  • 28 oz. of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • Sweet bay leaves 1 teaspoon
  • Basil 1 teaspoon
  • Medium size squash
  • 1 Package of Chili Preparation (contains corn flour, blends of ground chili peppers, onions, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin and salt)
Directions
  1. Cook beans with sweet bay leaves 1 to l 1/2 hours. Keep water 1/2 inch above beans
  2. As beans start to get tender, add vegetables, onions, peppers, etc.
  3. Season to taste
  4. Stir well. Continue cooking, add spices and heat (season hot as much as you can stand).
  5. Cook until the beans are tender, add tomato sauce and TVP.
  6. Cook slowly until you're hungry!
