MicroVas Vascular Treatment System
In October of 2006, footDrHorsley began using a remarkable treatment
device for wounds and poor circulation called the MicroVas Vascular
Treatment System (MicroVas). MicroVas is an electrical stimulation
device used to increase circulation to upper and lower extremities
or speed up wound healing process.
The latest MicroVas Vascular Treatment System is now in use at the
footDrHorsley facilities. For many years, healthcare facilities have
used some form of electrical stimulation for wound treatment.
MicroVas works to accelerate open wound healing, to trigger and
activate the healing processes within the body, to restore muscle
and tissue viability, and to assist in pain management.
MicroVas is proven to be more than 90% successful in preventing
amputation of lower extremities resulting from non-healing open
wounds, in Type II diabetics and many other vascular deficient
patients. MicroVas enjoys a near 100% success rate in pain
management associated with ischemic rest pain, and diabetic
neouropathy. In most cases non-healing diabetic foot or leg ulcers
have been completely healed.
footDrHorsley has seen a significant improvement in the recovery
process of the patients who had the MicroVas treatment.
